AVVAY
AVVAY was created in 2016 to provide a marketplace for creative professionals to find and book creative spaces for projects and events. I was brought in as a founder to the team to design the customer experience as well as provide visual design and front end development.
Challenge
One of the biggest challenges with AVVAY was designing and building a two-sided marketplace that served two core customers, guests, and hosts. Each customer had their own set of needs and goals so finding the appropriate balance in serving both is a consistent but rewarding challenge. Ultimately the solution was formulated with a lot of customer interviews and experimentation across the product.

Interaction Design
The first phase in the design process always involves indentifying and designing the various flows for task and customer experiences. Below are a couple of artifacts from the design phase portion of building out the platform.

Listing a Space
For space owners one of the most important tasks on the platform is creating a listing their space. Some of the challenges in designing this flow was creating an efficient process for gathering assets and data on a space as well as accomodating the approval process which could take up to 24 hours after the listing had been created.

SMS Notifications
The reservation process on AVVAY consists of a 5 stage lifecycle. Each stage in the process requires that notifications be sent to either a guest or host. For this flow I worked with the engineering team to design the ideal timing sequence of notifications as well as writing copy for the SMS message content.
Wireframes
Each screen within the application was wireframed so the team could identify the required functionality and user interface elements need to perform the goal of the product or feature. Below are a sample of some of the artifacts produced in the wireframing phase.
