A thought on WHATWG’s working list of HTML5 elements

I caught Roger Johansson’s post on Elements and Attributes in HTML5 and found a running list of new elements the WHATWG is working on for HTML5. I’m starting to see some things that designers and developers have been asking for in HTML for awhile now and that is standards within elements. I really hope that some of these get pushed out either by the W3C or WHATWG because I think I would make life a whole lot easier for people like me. We spend alot of time coming up with conventions for naming, labeling, etc. on our own, so having preset elements for footers, headers, etc. is going to be really nice.

Refresh06This year all of the Refreshing Cities will be descending upon Orlando for the first ever Refresh conference. If you’re not familiar with the concept of the Refresh meetup it’s basically AIGA for web designers and developers, with a looser structure and no fees.

This first conference has really turned out some good speakers (Andy Budd, Cameron Moll, Garrett Dimon, Jeremy Keith) and some interesting panels If you live in Florida, you should definetly make the trip and if not, you can always make a week of it and go visit Disney.
