Working inside an interactive creative department that routes a lot of copy and design changes internally through printed copies, it would be nice if these changes could be communicated directly on the web page being discussed. Diigo is a nice solution in that it offers a nice features groups with a privacy option. You don’t want annotations available to the public so creating a private group where you can invite members on your team only to view changes and modifications is really nice. Diigo would work for just about any other group that needs to collaborate on a web project as well.
May’s Refresh meetup is happening this wednesday at UM’s Communications School. If you are interested in coming out please head on over to the Google group, Upcoming or the site and get more information. Hope to see you there.
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted here so I’ll just run through some quick updates to get caught up.
I’ve taken on a new job as senior designer with the Bluegreen corporation. I’m excited to see what can happen here, the interactive department is young and there’s alot of room to do some cool things within this company so we’ll see what happens. I’ve also taken on the project of handling all the UI and identity design for an internet startup based out of Miami called Ourscene. Ourscene will be a mix of social networking geared towards connecting fans and bands in mostly the underground hardcore and punk music scene. I’m excited about this project playing in bands and putting out records has given me alot of ideas in this area and would love to see something cool like this being down here.
I’ll be traveling to Haiti at the end of this month to meet my future daughter and to do some service projects at her orphanage. Haiti isn’t the safest place to travel if you’re an american, so I’ll be going with a group from New City who will also be working at the orphanage. I know traveling to this country and meeting my daughter is going to change my perspective in alot of ways.
I’ve been on Twitter for awhile now, but it’s been cool to see more and more Miami Refreshers hop on and connect with each other. Twitter is becoming more and more useful to me in communicating and staying in touch with this circle. Virb is also eternally cool, I’ve actually been previewing and discovering alot of cool bands on this site. Also been using Twitbin alot, a very cool plugin for Firefox built locally right here by Infinimedia in Miami.
